On-Site
The ABMC provides on-site access to
its film and digital holdings for
qualified scholars, which is defined
as any person with sufficient knowledge
of the relevant languages.
Interlibrary Loan
Guidelines
All microfilm and microfiche images
of manuscripts are loaned to individuals
through the Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
department of an accredited library
with which they are affiliated. This
may be a university library or a public
library. Loans cannot be made directly
to individuals. The lending library
is the Claremont School of Theology
Library (OCLC symbol: CST). Requests
can be through the OCLC ILL system
or manually via email (bclements @
cst.edu). The Claremont School of
Theology Library's ILL contact person
is Betty Clements, Reference Librarian.
Only six (6) films may be requested
at one time. The loan period is for
four weeks with the option of one
renewal. Renewals must be requested
either by phone, mail, email, or through
the OCLC system prior to the due date.
There is a service charge in order
to cover conservation and shipping
of the images as follows:
- First
microfilm $20
- Each
additional microfilm $10
- First
microfiche $15
- Each
additional microfiche $5
Duplication of images portrayed in
the films is strictly prohibited by
copyright law. Permission must be
granted by the original holding institute
of the manuscript prior to mitigation
of this rule. It is understood that
any usage of manuscript images is
strictly for personal research and
not for publication.
Images of the Dead Sea Scrolls, however,
are not available through ILL. They
must be duplicated first and sold
to the individual requiring them.
Request for images should identify
the holding institute, manuscript
number and shelf mark of the original
holding institute (e.g. Vatican Library,
Codex Vaticanus Graecus 1209) or at
least the designation by the standard
numbering system for that type of
manuscript, such as Gregory-Aland
number for New Testament manuscripts
(e.g. G/A 03 for Codex Vaticanus B).
Descriptive List
of Holdings
Copies of our Descriptive List of
Holdings are available for $10 each
to cover printing costs and shipping.
This is the most up to date listing
available of our entire holdings to
scholars through ILL.
